Sree ThriKkaipPatta Temple

SREE THRIKKAIPATTA TEMPLE

On 20 May 2026, Chitrasopanam Art Foundation successfully completed a major Kerala mural painting project at Trikkaippatta Subramanya Temple, marking another significant contribution to the preservation and promotion of Kerala’s sacred mural tradition.

This project was sponsored by Chitrasopanam Art Foundation.

The murals at Trikkaippatta Subramanya Temple narrate the glorious life and divine exploits of Lord Muruga (Subrahmanya, Skanda, or Kartikeya), the revered son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Natural pigments and traditional materials were employed wherever appropriate ensuring harmony with the temple’s spiritual atmosphere while preserving the authenticity of the art form.

Thrikaippatta Temple Mural Project

The Thrikkaippatta temple is one of the largest temples (sreekovil) situated in Kozhikode which was constructed using red laterite stone. This stone provides a perfect base to render kerala mural paintings entirely using ancient traditional natural colour techniques.
